Multipurpose gas spring with incompressible and compressible media

The gas spring has a pressure tube (1). It has a piston and a telescopic connecting rod (2). The movement of the connecting rod can be stopped in either direction by an incompressible medium (3) in the tube (1). The incompressible medium (3) adjoins a compressible medium (4) which may be compressed or expanded as required. The two media are separated by a partition (5) with a sealed aperture for the connecting rod. The incompressible medium may be separated from a further incompressible medium (8) by a second partition (7). The further medium may be supplied by a pump.
