<p>A method of displaying a user-defined mapping of a medical specimen (20) includes creating a feature map (22) of the medical specimen (20). User-defined locations are then mapped onto the feature map (22) to create a custom slide which is then displayed. A system (10) for displaying user-defined mapping of a medical specimen (20) includes a processor (26) for receiving the image and feature map data. A display (16) is coupled to the processor (26) for displaying selected visual images (18) and the feature map (22). A mouse (28) is coupled to the processor (26) to identify particular images (18) on the display (16). The processor (26), in response, effectuates a locational indication of the identified image (18) on the displayed feature map (22) by mapping the location and nature of the image onto the displayed feature map (22).</p> |
