<p>The spoke of the wheel is produced from a reinforced composite fibre, such as carbon fibre, which is produced in the form of a continuous loop, formed from a series of spirals. The loop is formed in an elongated shape with long parallel straight portions (9,10), which are linked together by means of the rounded end sections (11,12). The internal diameter of the rounded circular end sections is of the order of greater than 2 mm, and is preferably around 3 mm. The loops of fibre are encased in resin, by appropriate means. Two pins (13,14), of appropriate shape are provided to transmit the forces through the spokes, from the hub to the rim of the wheel.</p> |
