<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pair of socks, each having an unexposed inlet of a bag section, allowing an object, e.g. a protector, to be securely inserted and held without damaging supporting force of the socks, and advantageous in terms of manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This pair of socks has a leg section 3, outer opening section 4 composed of a double-layered knit fabric knitted into a double well monolithically with the leg section 3, and inner opening section 5 which is continuous with the end of the inner layer of the outer opening section 4 via a space 52, wherein a bag section 6 is formed by knitting only a wale corresponding roughly to a half round of the cylindrical knit fabric in two opposite directions into the space 52 so as to hold a protector of the like. It is knitted from the toe section 21, with knitting needles kept idle at intervals of one or several needles, increasing one or several working needles for every or several courses for knitting a section from the ankle section 24 to leg section 3 and using all of the needles for knitting a section of almost upper half of the leg section and the opening section 4, so as to gradually increase diameter of the leg section and the above as the needles move upward.</p> |
