PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a controller for a printer having print density to be switched in which print consumables can be reduced by determining an optimal print density automatically depending on a normal mode attaching importance to print quality and an economy mode attaching importance to running cost. SOLUTION: The print controller comprises first and second print process mechanism sections for controlling the quantity of coloring material adhering to a print medium and a print mechanism section 1 for performing printing according to a print data is controlled through sequential processing of the print process mechanism sections. At the time of economy mode printing, the first and second print process mechanism sections are controlled to reduce the quantity of coloring material adhering to a print medium at the print mechanism section 1, as well as the first and second print process mechanism sections, as compared with normal mode printing. |
