PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detoxify a harmful material such as malodorous or harmful gas over a long period by using a composition comprising a photo catalyst, an organic metallic complex and/or an azo group-containing organic compound and an inorganic fusing material to improve the activity of the photocatalyst. SOLUTION: This composition is prepared by mixing a photocatalyst such as titanium dioxide, an inorganic fusing material such as an enamel slip, the organic metallic complex such as a phthalocyanine or the azo group-containing organic compound such as an insoluble azo pigment. The environmental purification composition is obtained by adding a solvent such as KCL therein, mixing to disperse and after that, drying and pulverizing. An environmental purification material is manufactured by applying the environmental purification composition on a steel sheet or the like and firing. As a result, the environmental purification material efficiently converts moisture and oxygen in the coating film or air into oxygen radical by the interaction of the contained components, exhibits the photodecomposition effect of the harmful material and is used over a long period with the small degradation. |
