<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high speed operation by ensuring a sufficient energy for exposure without increasing the current being supplied to each LED element of an LED array head even if the lighting time is shortened thereby enhancing the line speed of a photosensitive body with no trouble. SOLUTION: A plurality of LED array heads 8, 9 of identical specifications, each comprising a large number of LED elements arranged in the main scanning direction under parallel state in the subscanning direction, are disposed oppositely to a rotary driven photosensitive body 1. Sufficient exposing energy synthesized through the LED array heads 8, 9 is imparted to the photosensitive body 1 by providing an optical writing unit 3 for forming an electrostatic latent image by driving each LED element in the LED array heads 8, 9 based on an identical image signal thereby exposing the same position of the photosensitive body 1 after it is charged uniformly.</p> |
