<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-base ink which can give high-hiding-power metallic- gloss writing on substrates having various colors, especially a dark-colored substrate such as black paper or a colored rubber sheet by using an aluminum powder, titanium oxide, a water-soluble organic solvent and water as the essential components. SOLUTION: It is desirable that the aluminum powder is used in an amount of 1-20 wt.% based on the total weight of the ink and has a mean particle diameter of 5-60μm. The titanium oxide is used as a colorant which imparts hiding power to writing. It is desirably one surface treated with e.g. alumina and/or silica in order to improve dispersibility and tight resistance. It is used in an amount of 5-20 wt.% based on the total weight of the ink. The water-soluble organic solvent is exemplified by a glycol, 2-pyrrolidone or triethanolamine and is used in an amount of 5-40 wt.% based on the total weight of the ink. The water is used as the principal solvent.</p> |
