PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming material for obtaining an image of high resolution with satisfactory productivity by suppressing density unevenness due to irregularity in an image forming layer in the case of forming the image by irradiation of a light or thermal energy, and suppressing unevenness of sensitivity of the layer. SOLUTION: In the image forming material having an image forming layer having changing density by thermal or optical energy obtained by coating a support with mixed liquid of colorant particles and binder, a change of a reference surface when the support is uniformly extended by tension of 0.1 to 0.5 kg/cm from both ends in a lengthwise direction to a coating direction is in a range of -5 mm to +5 mm, or change value of a thickness satisfies at least one condition within 5%. To manufacture the material, the image forming layer is formed by coating the support in a free span using no back roll while conveying it. |
