PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and effectively produce a ferritic stainless steel sheet excellent in roping resistance. SOLUTION: At the time of subjecting a ferritic stainless steel slab having a compsn. contg., by mass, 0.01 to 0.10% C, 0.005 to 0.025% N, 0.05 to 0.20% Ni, 0.05 to 0.50% Mn, 10 to 25% Cr, 0.10 to 0.50% Si, 0.01 to 0.20% Al, 0.003 to 0.003 to 0.020% B, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and in whichγp shown by the formula ofγp=420C+470N+23Ni+7Mn-11.5Cr-11.5 Si-52Al-600B+189 to hot rolling, the heating temp. is regulated to 1100 to 1250 deg.C, the hot rolling finishing temp. in the finish rolling after rough rolling is regulated to >=900 deg.C, and after the finish rolling, it is held for >=2 sec, is subsequently water-cooled, is coiled at 450 to 600 deg.C and is next subjected to cold rolling, annealing and skinpass rolling without executing hot rolled sheet annealing.
