PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the glossiness and transparency as that of photographic paper and improve dye ink absoptiveness by adding a graft copolymer having gelatin as backbone polymer in an ink adsorptive layer provided on a support. SOLUTION: The ink image-receiving layer of an ink jet image receiving body is formed of a graft copolymer whose backbone polymer is gelatin. The surface of the image-receiving layer containing the gelatin is not adhesive, whether an unprinted area or a printed area, and the gelatin has high strength of film. It absorbs water and swells. However, it does not dissolve in water at normal temperature. Using the gelatin having said good properties as backbone polymer and grafting various kinds of polymers as the second and the third components make it possible to give the ink image-receiving layer high absorbing performance while maintaining the properties of the gelatin, and obtain an image receiving body that has glossiness comparable to a silver-salt photograph, absorbs ink quickly, and dries the ink fast and is less adhesive. |
