PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contamination of a body or a cloth of a user as well as a device itself due to leakage of ink at the operating time of an ink jet printer or at the exchanging time of an ink cartridge. SOLUTION: This ink cartridge 10 is so constituted that it is detachably loaded to a cartridge loading section 2 having a hollow pipe-shaped connection needle 4 communicated to a recording head of a device 1 and it is penetrated by the connection needle 4 at the loading, then ink 13 is supplied to the recording head. An ink refilling chamber 12 is provided in a case 11 by partitioning it by a partition 15. A connection section 15a made by an elastic material which can be penetrated by the connection needle 4 is provided to the partition 15. An ink receiving section 16 that can suck and hold the leaked ink is provided to the inner section of the case 11 by being insulated with the ink refilling chamber 12 by the partition 15. A connection needle cleaning section 14a made of an elastic material having a water-repellency which is penetrated by the connection needle 4. is provided to a part of a side wall 14 which forms the external shell of the case 11. An ink refilling bag made of a material which can be penetrated by the connection needle 4 can be utilized instead of the ink refilling chamber 12. |
