A mobile telephone fastening includes a gripping member engaging a waistband and an attaching member engaging therewith which has a base 80 attached to a mobile telephone and an integral stud with a rectangular head 81. The gripping member includes an enclosure slidably receiving a press button 20 and pivotally mounting a latch member 30. An inverted-U-shaped flexure strip 40 mounts a waistband clip 50. The head 81 is received in a longitudinal recess 11 which has a circular space 112 defined at a lower portion thereof. The latch member has a portion extending into the longitudinal recess. In operation, the recess can receive the head when it is turned to present its short sides and the head can move past the latch member which then prevents removal of the head. When the head reaches the circular space 112 the mobile telephone can be rotated to align the two opposed long edges of the head with the recess to further prevent removal. Reverse rotation of the head allows it to move back into the recess and depression of button 20 retracts the latch member 30 to allow full disengagement. |
