Method and apparatus for charging and discharging a piezoelectric element

The method involves using an element (2) acting as an inductance for the charging and discharging current. At least either the charging or discharging of the piezoelectric element (111,121,..) is performed at least partly using clocked charging and discharging current control. The element acting as an inductance is a coil. The charging circuit contains the coil and the piezoelectric element. Discharging takes place via first and second discharging circuits, each contg. the piezoelectric element and the coil.
