摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce squeaking by combining friction materials having difference friction characteristics and protruding the friction material having a relatively low friction factor from the other location. SOLUTION: A brake lining 1 is composed by combining a lowμfriction material 3 having a low friction factor loaded in a back plate with a highμfriction material 4 having a high friction factor. The region of the lowμfriction material is indicated by a slanting line in the drawing, and it is arranged in a circular-arc shape along a large curvature radius friction sliding direction having a specified width M, i.e., in the direction of an arrow B3 around the rotational center of a brake drum. Lowμfriction materials 3 are arranged in both sides of the cross direction of the brake lining 1. The exposed area of the highμfriction material 4 is set larger than the exposed area of the lowμfriction material 3 so as to secure braking property. Thus, during the light brake operation of a small brake operation amount, priority is put on friction between the friction material having a low friction factor and an opposite friction material and therefore the suppression of 'squeaking' is facilitated.
