PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a MODEM capable of easily displaying the state of a sequence by means of an eye pattern, and to provide a state display method therefor. SOLUTION: A decoder 107 decodes a sequence state of a MODEM latched in a status register 108 and electors 105, 106 select a corresponding pattern among pluralities of patterns from pattern generators 104-1 to 104-5 and selectors 102, 103 select the selected pattern and an eye pattern of the means alternately and the selected pattern is displayed. |
