PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of dielectric breakdown of a dielectric layer in a non-display area of a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: In a sealing part area of a first substrate and a second substrate of a plasma display panel, in the case of forming X, Y electrode wiring 12, 14 in a sealing part area for drawing the wiring out of the panel, a black stripe (BS) 16 provided between a pair of X, Y electrode wiring 12, 14 and other pair of X, Y electrode wiring 12, 14 in a display area is extended to a position near the panel sealing part. With this structure, effective thickness of a dielectric layer 18 formed on an upper layer in relation to the X, Y electrode wiring 12, 14 can be increased so as to prevent the generation of dielectric breakdown of the dielectric layer 18 in this area. Thickness of the dielectric layer 18 to be formed near the panel sealing part can be formed larger than the thickness thereof in other area. Or, a MgO layer 20 easy to generate discharge is not formed near the sealing part. |
