PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the Japanese converting device which can convert a KANJI (Chinese character) idiom before its original reading is fully inputted. SOLUTION: According to whether an code inputted from an input means 1 is a conversion code, the input is converted in the case of the conversion code, but when the code is a character, it is stored and next input is expected; and the stored character string is read out and beings to be converted. For this conversion, the length of the character string is counted and if a wild-card character is included in the character string, the wild-card character is deleted, a reading and its length are read out of a dictionary 3 and compared with the inputted character string and length. When they match each other, the KANJI idiom, KATAKANA(square form of Japanese syllabary), and HIRAGANA(cursive form of Japanese syllabary) corresponding to the reading are read out, but when not, a check is made until a next reading is found; when there is not next reading, the conversion is finished and when the next reading is found, the next reading is read out. |
