PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel sheet whose cold rolling property and the ridging property are improved in a simple working process without requiring any special equipment by cold-rolling the hot-rolled ferritic stainless steel plate which the Cr content is specified, and the potential values at an end part of the prescribed length and at a center part in the width direction are specified. SOLUTION: A hot-rolled ferritic stainless steel plate which 10-23%, by weight, Cr is contained, theγpotential value (referred to asγt) expressed by the formula for the end part in the range of at least 10 mm and at most 50 mm from the outermost end part is <=23%, and theγpotential value (referred to asγc) to be expressed by the formula for the center part in the width direction is >=28%, is cold rolled. The corrosion resistance as the stainless steel sheet is insufficient if the Cr content is below 10%, and the ductility and machinability are degraded if the Cr content exceeds 23%, and such a stainless steel sheet can not be used in the applications where the problem of ridging is present. The lowerγt is, the more favorable the improvement of ductility and machinability is, but ifγt exceeds 23%, the ductility is degraded whenγc becomes higher. Whenγc is below 28%, the ridging improvement effect can not be obtained.
