FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: hard-alloy insert for rock-breaking tool has working head and tail part. Working head includes interconnected base in the form of cylinder of revolution and cutting part. Cutting part has form of body of revolution which generating line is formed by section of convex line with at least one rectilinear and/or at least one curvilinear sections. Tail part is composed of intermatched intermediate part in the form of truncated cone and end part in the form of cylinder of revolution. Length of base of working head amounts to not less than 0.09 and not more than 0.31 of length of its cutting part. Length of intermediate part amounts to not less than 0.16 and not more than 0.58 of length of cutting part of working head. Length of end part of tail part is not less than 0.37 and not more than 0.76 of length of cutting part of working head.
