PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably control a horizontal position with respect to a leak current by providing a switching means, with which a control current for the horizontal position is let flow in/out only during the period of flyback pulse, in a horizontal position control circuit to be used for a television receiver. SOLUTION: A flyback pulse (h) from a horizontal deflection circuit 9 is inputted to a switching means 11, and a pulse-shaped position control current (k) is outputted, while intermittently switching an output constant current (j) from the switching means 11. A control voltage (l) as a result adding a detected current (i) and the pulse-shaped phase control current (k) is generated at a capacitor 12 for phase control voltage generation. Therefore, since the constant current (j) to be set arbitrarily for varying the horizontal position flows into the capacitor 12 only during the period of the flyback pulse, in comparison with the case of letting the control current flow in for the entire horizontal period 64μs, the control current to let flow during the flyback pulse period 11μs can be flowed by 64÷11=5.8 times.
