摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copying device capable of inexpensively and efficiently being cooled while reducing energy by utilizing natural convection. SOLUTION: In this copying device 30, an image forming unit 34, a developing unit 35, a fixing unit 36 and a main body unit 31 such as a power source unit are housed in a main body housing 33, and an optical unit 32 is housed in an optical unit case 56, then the unit 32 is arranged to be coupled with the housing 33 in a nearly vertical state where a contact glass 57 is nearly vertical. An air inflow port 67 and an air exhaust port 69 are formed on the base 66 and the upper plate of the case 56, respectively. A louver 53 having plural apertures 52 on an upper side surface is disposed on the housing 33 and an aperture area for a photoreceptor 49, an aperture area for a power source unit 51 and an aperture area for a fixing unit 50 are formed on a lower partition plate 43. The periphery side of a fixing unit 36 is partitioned by the partition plates 54 and 55 made of heat insulating material, and a head discharge channel HR is formed above the unit 36. Therefore, the respective units are efficiently and inexpensively cooled by the natural convection while reducing the energy consumption.
