PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the exchange of the density characteristic of image data and to make it efficient by setting the measuring time of a density measuring means measuring density on a recording sheet obtained after fixing to a point of time when the density reaches a density stabilizing area or the time near to the point of time. SOLUTION: A control part measures and judges whether elapsed time T obtained after a recording sheet is discharged from a fixing device becomes specified set time TX or not. When the elapsed time becomes the set time (T=TX), the sheet guiding direction of a switching gate is switched to the side of a carrying path for discharge by a control signal from the control part, at the same time, a normally and reversely rotating carrying roll rotates in a reverse direction. At this time, the set time TX is set to be the point of time T0 that the density reaches the density stabilizing area E where the density measuring time by the density measuring device is stabilized, or to be the time near to the reaching point of time (T0 ±Δt). Consequently, the set time is ideally the reaching time (TX=T0 ), but actually is in a time zone (T0 -Δt)<(T0 +Δt) including the time near to the reaching point of time. |
