PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flatten a surface of an overcoat layer and prevent disconnection of an electrode when the electrode is formed on it and stripping and devitrification of the overcoat layer by providing the overcoat layer consisting of a lower layer of a low-melting point glass layer and an upper layer of an acid resistant layer on a coloring pattern on a substrate. SOLUTION: A low-melting point glass layer 25 of a lower layer of an overcoat layer formed on coloring patterns 22, 23, and 24 of a transparent substrate 21 for a front plate is made of pbO, ZnO, Na2 O, and BaO or the like, and when it is melted in a burning process and impregnated in pigment, an irregularity part of a surface thereof is alleviated. An acid resistant layer 26 of an upper layer may be an inorganic oxide having PbO, B2 O3 , and SiO2 as a component and an oxide film of Si, Al, Ti, and Ta formed by vacuum deposition sputter deposition or the like. Therefore, on this, resistance against an etching liquid and smoothness of a surface are obtained during pattern forming of a transparent electrode 27 and a metal bus electrode 28. Further, a transparent dielectric 29 and a protection layer 30 are provided. |
