PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode with a switch, which is extremely simple in structure, and requires an extremely small mounting space, and thereby contributes much to making the equipment smaller in size, and lighter in weight. SOLUTION: This light emitting diode is formed out of a light emitting diode main body 11 out of the lower surface of which switch terminals a18 and b20 are projected, and of a button 24 which covers the light emitting diode main body 11 from above while being freely moved up and down, the light emitting diode main body 11 is made out of epoxy resin, a light emitting part is formed inside the light emitting diode main body, in which light emitting tips are formed by means of wire bonding in the upper end part of paired light emitting terminals a12 and b14, paired stationary contact pieces a17 and b17 are disposed over the surface of the light emitting diode main body 11, a movable contact 23 short-circuiting a circuit between the stationary contact pieces, is provided inside the button 24, and concurrently, the button 24 is disposed over the light emitting main body 11 by way of an elastic member 27 in such a way as to be freely moved up and down. |
