PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bipolar charged battery with a pack having an inside area to store gas as electrode active material and an insulating liner. SOLUTION: Plural cells lap one another in a pack, each of which has a metal bipolar cup 38 provided with a circular base and an insulated, hydrophobic and rising laminated wall in truncated conical shape to be gradually expanded apart from the base. A solid anode is lapped on the base 40. A dielectric separator 50 separates an anode and a gas cathode 48 is formed to pass electrolyte between a cell 36 adjacent to the bipolar base and the base. The rising side wall 42 of the each cell is placed in the direction of passing gas from each cell into a bulk gas storage area. The rising side wall of the adjacent cell parts mutual gaps to allow the transfer of gas between the adjacent cells and between the cell and the bulk gas storage area. |
