PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent illegal copying by generating a modulation signal where a signal level is changed by a cycle integral multiple of a specified basic cycle based on main data, generating a pit or a mark in an optical recording medium by the modulation signal and changing the light quantity of a laser beam according to sub-data including identification data at this time. SOLUTION: An optical modulation circuit 14 generates an EFM modulation signal S2 changed for its signal level by a cycle integral multiple of the basic cycle of pit formation, and edge position correction circuits 15A and 15B output modulation signals S1A and A1B corresponding to the laser beams L of 100% light quantity and 85% light quantity outputted from an optical modulator 8A. An identification code generation circuit 12 intermittently raises the light quantity of the laser beam L outputted from the optical modulator 8A from 100% to 85%, and a pit width formed in an original disk 2 is modulated according to identification data. Thus, the reproducing of the identification data is difficult and thereby illegal copies are eliminated from the market. |
