Position and-or velocity regulation method for NC machine tool axes

The position and/or velocity regulation method has the regulation of at least one numerically-controlled machine tool axis (9) effected via a second regulation system (18) provided in addition to the standard numerical control regulation system (1). The required position for the machine tool axis provided by the standard numerical control regulation system is converted into the required signal form for the second regulation system and compared with the actual position, to provide a setting value for a drive amplifier (7) associated with the machine tool axis.
