The magnetic element part of the tag comprises a wire, strip or band coated with a combination of at least two materials chosen from magnetic powder, conductive powder, dielectric powder or binder, the combination being chosen to give the element the desired electromagnetic, electric and/or magnetic response properties. The coating component properties can be modified by an external source in order to (de)activate the element. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The tag comprises an elongated amorphous element designed to respond to an electromagnetic signal within a detection zone due to modulation in a magnetic field, in order to reveal its presence or identity.
