<p>The watch is fitted with a sliding element (4) with an outer foot (7), which is engaged in a groove (6) in a chamber (8) in the wall of the watch casing. The outer part of the sliding element is curved to follow the outside curvature of the watch casing. The foot engages the end of a shaft (10), which extends through a section of the casing wall to engage a plunger (3), which pushes a lever (2). The shaft is spring-biased to urge it outwards from the casing, so that movement of the sliding element temporarily displaces the shaft inwards. The joint through which the shaft passes is sealed to maintain the complete seal of the watch casing. The lever, which is driven by the shaft, also stands within a sealed enclosure (1).</p> |
