PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain safe aqueous ink capable of improving water resistance of recorded materials without causing bleeding of recorded image and bleeding of mixed color by including a component A forming a water-insoluble complex with a dye, a component B solubilizing the complex and a component C absorbing the component B. SOLUTION: This ink contains a coloring material and a liquid medium, and at least contains (i) a dye such as an azo-based dye, (ii) a component A forming a water-insoluble complex with a dye, preferably a compound having an ionic property opposite to that of dye and (iii) a component B solubilizing a complex, preferably a nonionic water-soluble polymer and/or non-ionic surfactant and (iv) a component C absorbing the component B by outside stimulation, preferably a compound capable of heat reversibly dissolving or depositing from the aqueous solution at nearly transition temperature Ts (Ts is preferably 20-100 deg.C). Furthermore, ink jet recording is preferably carried out by using the above ink and retaining the surface temperature of a material to be recorded at Ts or above of the component C when recorded. |
