PIER STRUCTURE OF ROAD BRIDGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a pier by buffering a vertical stress wave by earthquake with a vertical shock. SOLUTION: A housing hole for freely liftably externally fitting a column-like body 13 vertically provided on a footing 12 is formed on the lower end of a pier main body 14, a first buffering material 16 exists between the ceiling faces of the housing hole 15 and the column-like body 13, and a second buffering material 17 exists between the bottom face of the pier main body 14 and the upper face of the footing 12. Vertical stress transmitted from a pier base part to be pier main part 14 is buffered and attenuated.
