PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for imaging for suppressing an air gap formation by controlling an amount of ink small droplet. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 10 comprises an ink jet printing head 45 having a nozzle for discharging ink small droplet. Since a heater element variably supplies thermal energy to the droplet, an amount of the droplet is controlled. A controller 40 for variably controlling the energy supplied to the droplet is connected to the element. The controller 40 variably controls a plurality of voltage pulses sequentially applied to the element, and variably controls the energy. As a result, an air gap forming potential at the droplet is reduced. |
