FLUORINE-CONTAINING SOLUTION ELECTROLYZING ELECTRODE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorine-contg. soln. electrolyzing electrode capable of maintaining the function of the electrode over a long period when a fluorine- contg. soln. is used as the electrolyzing electrode. SOLUTION: In an electrode having a platinum-group metal coating on a substrate, an intermediate layer consisting of at least one kind among niobium, tantalum and niobium-tantalum alloy and having >=50μm thickness is provided between the tantalum substrate and the platinum-group metal coating. The tantalum substrate and the intermediate layer are bonded in vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere by thermocompression, and hence the electrode structure is formed precisely and easily.
