摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously control resin characteristics and production rate and enable continuous polymerization of anα-olefin in vapor phase without requiring additional reaction body by skillfully treating a chromium-based catalyst and resin modifier (oxygen) in a vapor phase in the presence of the catalyst. SOLUTION: When anα-olefin (e.g. ethylene or propylene) is continuously polymerized in vapor phase in the presence of a chromium-based catalyst (e.g. chromocene catalyst) at 10-130 deg.C under 100-600 psi pressure and in 0-1 molar ratio of oxygen toα-olefin, (A) a catalytic amount required for bringing about desired production rate in line and bringing about operation point of target molar ratio of oxygen toα-olefin is determined and (B) oxygen amount required for molar ratio of oxygen ofα-olefin is determined and (C) the catalyst, theα-olefin and oxygen introduced in an amount required for satisfying the above process and (D) target molar ratio of oxygen toα-olefin is controlled so as to be indicated by analysis of the produced polymer in order to obtain desired resin characteristics.
