PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out removal of harshness of a food in just proportions by a simple method. SOLUTION: This agent for removing harshness of food is obtained by housing and packaging many granular materials 1 obtained by classifying a raw material provided with ion exchange property or absorbing property or both characteristics thereof into materials having prescribed diameters or granulating and solidifying the raw material into a container 2 provided with water permeability. A granular material 1 formed by adding a binder to high-purity zeolite powder purified from zeolite, especially natural zeolite and granulating and solidifying the powder is used as the above raw material. Further, the above raw material may be granular material or powder of carbide of a synthetic zeolite or artificial zeolite with active carbon or charcoal. When a food containing harsh component is heated or immersed into water, solid granular material 1 containing the raw material substance provided with ion exchange property or absorbing property or both characteristics thereof is immersed into water together with the above food. |
