<p>The dowel comprises a flat body (10). It has a hole (11) between its two ends (12,13), and a screw thread (16) and claws (21) which lie in line with the flat body in their initial state. They are splayed by the screw so that they penetrate the material in which the dowel is fixed and anchor it in place. The dowel also has at least one elongated plate (30) fixed to its flat body (10) and situated in the same plane as it.
