In an inspection unit (18), based on a number of predetermined parameters, it is determined whether the package (2) can be accepted. The bar code is at least partly removed or destroyed and the package is fed to a feed-out part (8). Before inspection, the package is weighed and its material is detected. By means of a cutting tool, a slit is made in the returned drinks package which extends across the complete bar code, rendering it unreadable. - A coloured strip can also be applied to the package, extending across the whole bar code, rendering it unreadable. A weighing device is used to establish the weight of the package, a detector determines the material of the package and the inspection unit calculates the return process, communicating with the user. |
