PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package for an optical transmission module as well as a light transmission module allowing the easy setting of optical fiber alignment, and having a compact size and an airtight sealing structure of high reliability against an environmental fluctuation or a handling work. SOLUTION: The first substrate 1 has an optical fiber fixing V-groove 3, an optical fiber edge collision rectangular hole 4, a mounting part 5 for light emitting and receiving elements 6 and 7, a wiring conductor 8 and a substrate jointing annular V-groove 11 faced to the outer surface of the second substrate 2, respectively formed on the upper surface. Also, the second substrate 2 has an optical fiber fixing presser groove 9 faced to the V-groove 3 and a recess 10 faced to the mounting part 5, respectively formed on the lower surface. The first and the second substrates 1 and 2 so formed are jointed to each other with a sealing material attached to the outer surface thereof, and a light transmission module package is thereby prepared. A sealing material pocket is formed in the annular V-groove 11, with an external electrical connection maintained via the wiring conductor 8. As a result, a gap with the outer surface of the second substrate 2 can be properly sealed airtightly with the sealing material. |
