PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten pattern matching processing time by determining a pixel group pattern to be used for comparison between inputted lightness distribution and a model pattern in each model pattern. SOLUTION: A picture processor 1 comprises an interface 2, a picture processing part 3 and a memory 4. An image pickup camera 5 takes an image to be collated and sends its analog picture signal to the interface 2. The interface 2 converts lightness distribution in each pixel of the analog picture signal into a digital picture signal, which is sent to the picture processing part 3. The memory 4 stores plural kinds of model patterns to be references. The processing part 3 reads out a model pattern from the memory 4 and executes the pattern matching of the read pattern with the digital picture signal for each pixel. Since a pixel group pattern to be used for comparison has been determined for each model pattern, which model pattern out of plural sorts of stored model patterns coincides with an object to be inspected is discriminated. |
