PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming device capable of obtaining a satisfactory image and keeping the lives of an image carrier and a cleaning means for a long time by actuating a switching means for switching the cleaning efficiency of a cleaning means in accordance with the image forming condition at the time of forming an image. SOLUTION: The switching means for switching the cleaning efficiency of the cleaning device 11 is actuated in accordance with the image forming condition. In the case of the cleaning device 11 in which a blade system is adopted, the cleaning efficiency is switched by mainly selecting whether presscontact force is strong or weak and whether a blade comes in contact or non-contact. Namely, in the case of setting the cleaning efficiency high, the actuator 7a of a solenoid 7 is moved downward so that a cleaner blade 4 may come in presscontact with the surface of a photoreceptor 3 by the maximum press- contact force set in a spring 23. In the case of setting the cleaning efficiency low, the actuator 7a of the solenoid 7 is moved upward to pull up a blade holder 22 against the spring 23, so that the blade 4 may come in press-contact with the surface of the photoreceptor 3 by the presscontact force weaker than usual or non-contact therewith. |
