<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device enhanced in stability to heat and operation and significantly improved in EL performance by providing a positive electrode, an organic positive hole injection and positive hole transport layer containing a mixture of tertiary aromatic amine and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compound, an organic electron injection and electron transport layer, and a negative electrode in this order. SOLUTION: On a support base 2 of glass or the like, a positive electrode 3 of ITO or the like is formed. A positive hole injection and positive transport layer 4 containing a mixture of a tertiary aromatic amine such as N,N'- diphenyl,-N,N'bis(3-methylphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine and a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compound such as rubrene is vacuum-evaporated thereon. An electron injection and electron transport layer 5 consisting of a luminescent layer containing an electron transport component doped with a fluorescent dye such as quinacridon is vacuum-evaporated on this layer. Further, a negative electrode 6 of a low work function metal such as magnesium which makes contact with the layer is formed to provide an organic EL device.</p> |
