PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the printing efficiency when an image constituted of two or more colors is transferred after an image constituted of one color, by transferring the number of toner images defined by the length of an intermediate transfer belt and the size of the image to be transferred to the intermediate transfer belt and then transferring them to a transfer paper. SOLUTION: When plural images constituted of one color are printed, each toner image is transferred to the intermediate transfer belt 6 at a fixed period set with the image size. The position of the transfer and a register mark position are stored. When plural images constituted of two or more colors are printed, the register mark is used as a reference, the toner images of the number set with the length of the intermediate transfer belt 6 and the size of the transferred image are formed at prescribed certain intervals and continuously the toner images of each image are superimposed. When the toner images of two or more colors are printed after one color, the toner images of one color are transferred to the intermediate transfer belt and the toner images of each color are superimposed in such a manner that they are placed by the side of the toner images of one color, based on the stored positional relation. |
