Contact plate (1) for cordless iron comprises two contacts and one earth surrounded by a housing which incorporates the counter part. The housing is connected to the iron handle. At the housing base is the holder to join to the ironing board. The rear part of the iron handle incorporates the contact plate. A suitable heat exchanger (4) is integrated into the iron.
