The vanes (3) of the flywheel pump adjoin at their free ends a band (8) provided in the pump housing (1) and forming the inner ring (4) of the housing. The length of the band can be changed so that the circumference of the inner ring can be changed. The band adjoins at least in the high pressure area the inner wall (9) of the pump housing or a pump ring provided in same and in the low pressure area is divided so that the two end sections of the band are guided in each other. A wedge-shaped or web-shaped nose (11) of one band end section (8a) engages in a suitably formed recess (12) in the other band end section (8b).
