This invention concerns a fuel-injection valve (1) for direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber (4) of an internal combustion engine with a nozzle body (2) which has a valve seat surface (8), at least one injection orifice (9) connected downstream to the valve seat surface (8), a valve closing body (7) which can be moved between a closed position on the valve seat surface (8) and a raised, open position, and a device (13) for producing a swirling flow for the fuel flowing through the injection orifice (9); one or more channels (15) discharge into the injection orifice (9), the intake openings (17) of which each are located in the region of the region of the fuel-injection valve (1) adjacent to the combustion chamber (4) of the internal combustion engine.
