Support device for conical bodies of revolution

The support device is e.g. for conical rollers. It consists of two adjacent support rolls conforming to the shape of the roller to be supported, divided into disc-shaped individual rollers. Each support roll (3,4) consists of at least two axially adjacent, disc-shaped individual rollers (7,8) which can be moved axially towards each other. At least one of the individual rollers of a support roll may consist of several sectors (9-11) stepped in diameter. The sector of the roller with the smaller diameter faces the unstepped roller.
