PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify collating processing and to easily construct a system by setting up the data length of each collation command to the length of the longest collation data in various IC cards (ICCs). SOLUTION: The lengths of collation data (passwords) for respective ICCs 3 to 5 are differently set up to six, eight and ten bytes and collation data of 10-byte length which is the same as the ICC 5 having the longest collation data are stored in a terminal equipment 1. In the collating processing of the ICCs 3 to 5, the data contents of a collation command sent from the equipment 1 are collated with the contents of collation data included in each ICC itself in each byte, and when the contents of all bytes coincide, collation OK is obtained. When the contents of any one of the bytes do not coincide, collation NG is outputted. Thereby the equipment 1 requires to know only the maximum length without requiring to previously know the data length of respective ICCs 3 to 5 and respective ICCs 3 to 5 execute the collation of only the data contents without requiring to collate data length. |
