SURFACE-TREATED TITANIUM OXIDE POWDER AND COSMETIC CONTAINING THE POWDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject powder having excellent feeling and adhesivity to the skin and capable of keeping a beautiful cosmetic film even after the lapse of time by treating the surface of titanium oxide powder having specific particle diameter and particle size distribution with a treating agent. SOLUTION: This titanium oxide powder has a primary particle diameter of 0.1-14μm and a span defined by the formula [D90-D10]/D50 (D90, D10 and D50 are particle diameters corresponding to the cumulative value of particle size distribution of 90%, 10% and 50%, respectively)} of <=2 and is treated with a surface-treating agent. The treating agent is preferably a lubricant, a silicone compound such as dimethylpolysiloxane or a fluorine compound such as an ester containing a perfluoroalkyl group.
