PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a treatment agent for synthetic fiber that is excellent in heat resistance, smoothness and extreme pressure properties by formulating a specific phenolic aromatic ester and a specific sulfur-containing aromatic ester thereto. SOLUTION: This synthetic fiber treatment agent is prepared by formulating 5-40wt.% of a phenolic aromatic ester represented by formula I (R1 and R2 are each H or a 1-5C alkyl; R3 is a 1-30C alkyl; A1 is a 2-4C alkylene; m is an integer of 0-4 and p is 0 or an integer of 1-30) and 30-80wt.% of a sulfur- containing aromatic ester represented by formula II (R4 and R5 are each a 1-20C alkyl; R6 is H, a halogen or a 1-5C alkyl; A2 is a 2-4C alkylene; X is S or NH; r is an integer of 1-4; n is an integer of 1-3; s is 0 or an integer of 1-30) and further by admixing thereto 0.1-10wt.% of a phosphate ester as an alkylphenol-alkylene oxide adduct phosphate alkylamine salt.
